International Solo Exhibitions Nepal

East Meets West was an exhibition which was conceived to travel. The paintings I've produced represent England and Nepal - the two places in which I spend most of my time!

The Himalayan range is one of the first things I see as I step out of the orphanage I co-founded. The landscapes of Northern England are where my memories are having been born in the Midlands and studied and taught in the North.

This exhibition toured Kathmandu starting at Taragaon Museum, Boudha and moving to Nepal Arts Council, Central Kathmandu.

I decided that I would like to take the paintings into a new context and see what happened. In Nepal, people seemed tired of always viewing scenes of the Himalayas and they wanted things new to them! both sets of paintings joined in the exhibition so the venues saw the two parts of the exhibition both East and West.
